How I Work

I help people who wish to embrace a healthy vegan lifestyle, for their wellbeing, the animals and the environment.

Over 10 years ago, I went vegan after watching documentaries which educated me on the effect that our food system, and food choices have, on the animals, our health and our environment.

My main drive was seeing the plight of farmed animals, however, also, over time, my health improved naturally and continuously, throughout my 50's and now into my early 60's.

I then went on to learn of the powerful benefits to our planet and environment that this way of living brings.

Now, with over 10 years lived experience and qualifications, my passion to help others on similar journeys.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I still get all the nutrients I need from a plant based diet?

Most major national and international nutrition and dietetic organisations are fully supportive of plant-based diets and recognise that a well planned 100% plant based diet can meet nutritional requirements for for all life stages, while also helping to maintain optimal health and reducing risk of chronic disease.

is it hard to make the change from the 'standard' diet to healthy vegan?

Today there are vegan alternatives to most of the foods you have been brought up with, eg milk, cheese, meat, even eggs. 'Treat' foods such as icecream, chocolate, biscuits and baked goods are readily available and easy to make at home if you so wish. Also it's good to realise we already eat a variety of healthy vegan food such as fruits, vegetables, wholegrains, beans and pulses, rice and pasta, so transitioning to a plant based diet, can be easy, with a bit of help and guidance.

Isn't a vegan diet expensive?

It can be relatively expensive, if you choose to buy mostly ready made and speciality options (much like the standard diet).

However a whole food plant based diet can be one of the most economical AND healthiest ways to eat, if you choose from the wide variety of fruits, vegetables, own brand plant milk, beans, pulses, lentils, wholegrains, rice, pasta.

I'm concerned about going plant based as I have food intolerances and allergies.

In our first session I will ask you about your health background, any health concerns and allergies etc. We can adapt your diet around these. As a member of the Plant Based Health Professionals UK, I have access to highly researched papers and and factsheets written by qualified health professionals.

How is going plant based better for the animals and the environment?

Put simply, we raise over 80 billion farmed animals every year to feed 7 billion people. This causes much suffering for the animals concerned, often raised in terrible conditions and slaughtered way before their natural life span. Feeding and raising these animals causes far more environmental impact than if we grew plants to feed humans directly.
