About Me

My name is Sue and I’m an experienced Reflexologist and health and wellbeing mentor, specialising in the Menopause.

Having personally been through all stages of the Menopause and also a breast cancer thriver, I have a passion to help women navigate these often challenging times.

For me it has been vital to adopt a healthy lifestyle, creating healthy routines and habits which are enjoyable and integrate well into daily life. Most Importantly, finding ways to manage stress and anxiety first and foremost, creating a calmer and more empowered state from which to make changes. Reflexology and Coaching are perfect for this.

I'm a fully qualified and insured Reflexologist and member of the The Association of Reflexologists.

In addition, I'm a qualified Positive Psychology Life Coach and a member of the Plant Based Health Professionals UK, with Diplomas in Wholefood Plant Based Nutrition and Lifestyle from Winchester University and Cornell University.

How I Work

To me the most important thing is to get to know you, the journey you're going through and your own individual wellbeing wishes and outcomes from our time together.

I offer an empathetic, and confidential space for you to express yourself.

From here I offer a combination of Reflexology, to calm and balance your system, and lifestyle and wellbeing coaching and mentoring, where we create positive changes that you can incorporate into your life to support you on your menopause journey.

(To note, this is a complimentary service, not medical advice, and you should always consult with your health practitioner in regard to any medications or health issues).

Reflexology

Reflexology is a complimentary therapy that brings together the power of touch and relaxation. It feels wonderful to receive and is effective at promoting deep relaxation and wellbeing, and therefore may help with symptoms of menopause, such as poor sleep, feeling stressed, low energy and more. Reflexology is based on the theory that different areas of the body, including the organs, nervous system, endocrine and musculoskeletal systems, are connected and mapped out to specific areas on the feet. (also hands and face). 'Reflexology 'points' are worked, using different techniques, to balance energy in those areas. It can be used alongside conventional medicine.

At the end of your treatment you will be given personalised reflex points to use on your hands at home, along with relaxation techniques.

Frequently asked questions

How many treatments will I need?

Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, but often benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best for the body properly beginning the self-healing process, and following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

What are your fees?

Your first treatment, which includes a detailed health and wellbeing consultation is £65.

Follow up treatments are £55.

Please note: if you want to cancel an appointment I require 48 hours’ notice; otherwise you will still need to pay for any sessions missed. I accept payment in cash and bank transfer.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexologists cannot claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes Reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.

What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?

Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet/ankles hands or face ,so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair or couch, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.

And don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, but find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.

Does reflexology hurt?

You might find some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but Reflexology does not involve hard pressing in the way something like a sports massage might. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.

Should I keep on having Reflexology?

Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling aches and pains, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
